Co-creation workshop at TU Delft

How can AI models be developed that recognize, interpret, and generate the soft values of architecture (such as social connection, identity, intuitive spatial experience, well-being)? How can AI models be developed that recognize, interpret, and generate the soft values of architecture (such as social connection, identity, intuitive spatial experience, well-being)? How can multidisciplinary knowledge (design, psychology, data science) be integrated into AI-driven design models? How can AI strengthen rather than replace the designer – “co-intelligence”? These have been the three leading questions of a co-creation workshop held at TU Delft in October 2025.

The co-creation workshop was held as Exploratory and Inventory Study on AI in Architecture. The preparation was coordinated by Eric van Heck (EUR), Michela Turrin (TU Delft), Feras Alsagaff (TUD), Bart Mispelblom Beyer (TANGRAM). The workshop discussion focused on several key areas, including the definition and delineation of the research questions, an inventory of existing knowledge and ongoing initiatives, and the methods and phasing of collaboration between universities and professional practice. Particular attention was given to how academic institutions and practitioners can work together in a structured and iterative way. The outcomes of the workshop were also intended to serve as a foundation for shaping the program and activities planned for the upcoming months.

The workshop results included… [WORK IN PROGRESS – TO BE WRITTEN]
